2.24.18 Twisted Fork – Cherry Valley – Chef Jay Powell
On this week’s Out With Joe.. we take a look at a little place just outside Worcester’s Webster square.. with a bit of an identity crisis?.. not at all… Owner/Chef Jay Powell knows exactly why he wanted to call his first open to the public eatery, The Twisted Fork Bistro and why…
So this storefront Bistro was opened in 2009 and is just a couple miles down Stafford street from Webster Square, at 509 Stafford St Cherry Valley, on top of Dead Horse Hill…
Chef Jay has been cooking since hanging out with mom, dad and even aunts, uncles and friends that came to visit at the family lakeside cottages.. when he was just a kid.. but even while in the corporate world at age 24 he opened Uncle Jays Chili… a catering service.. but over 20 years later Chef Jay knew he needed to open an actual brick and mortar
This is a small dining room… and always a wait to get in on the weekends.. always a good sign.. but there is no mystery there.. Twisted Fork is a true “from scratch” kitchen.. and that’s not a term Out With Joe uses lightly:
Both the dining room and kitchen are clean and well lit .. you will find Chef Jay and his wife Nancy working daily.. and staff that are like family to them.. there are both tables for two.. or family size..with the ability to move some together.. and most of the dining area is close the large store front windows with plenty of light .. or you can take a seat at the breakfast bar… or by one of the walls adorned with awards and certificates.. there is a full bar and always items changing with the season..
You can find Twisted Fork on Facebook and twitter .. located at 509 Stafford St Cherry Valley, Massachusetts .. go to Out With Joe .com for this post with links and an extended one on one chat with Chef Jay Powell… Uncle Jays Twisted Fork gets both a Hidden Gem and Fantastic Find form Out With Joe..
